Although a visual arts teacher at heart, Randall C. Holloway was empowered to teach the students in his 7th grade art class to read and write. "They could visualize the words, but couldn't comprehend them." He said.
Having taught 4th grade, Mr. Holloway introduced his program to his art students using an arts-integration curriculum he developed.
He said "Students drew pictures of what they could read. Then they immediately wanted to learn new words to enhance their pictures. They even retained the new words through the pictures."
And it worked. Holloway then branched out, to include an after-school program, several childrens books and a series for teens and young adults. He now does live performances with a childrens theatre troupe while maintining the Institute.
Mr. Holloway's degrees in Fine Arts and his natural talent and love for learning has allowed him to develop advanced thinking for our children.
Holloway Ventures has now taught academic integration to elementary and middle school students at several levels to high acclaim.
